Meghan K.M. Black, MD is an internist at the Birmingham VA medical center and Associate Professor of Medicine at the Heersink School of Medicine, University of Alabama Birmingham. She completed her residency and quality improvement fellowship at the University of North Carolina in 2017. She practiced as hospitalist and now serves as Deputy Associate Chief of Staff (ACOS) for the Medicine Service and Medical Director of the resident teaching clinic. She has been serving as the Assistant Director of the Birmingham VAQS since 2018. Dr. Black’s research and quality initiatives include the transition of patients across the care continuum including inpatient, primary and specialty care and ambulatory point of care ultrasound. In addition, she is actively involved in medical student and resident education across these areas.
